Piedmont is a region in northwest Italy. It borders the Liguria region to the south, the Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna regions to the east and the Aosta Valley region to the northwest; it also borders France to the west and Switzerland to the northeast. The capital of Piedmont is Turin.

Piedmont is the cradle of the slow food movement. You will find many great places that serve typical Piedmontese food. And of course the whole area is bursting with wine cellars waiting to be visited.

Would you like to visit a local food or antique market? Or do you prefer visiting a city? How about a day at the beach. The Piedmont has something for everyone!

Nature

An exciting and fun way to discover the region is by renting an E-bike! Whether you follow a route (that comes with renting) or book a tour with the guide it is a unique way to experience the versatile landscape of this area and visit a local winery on the way! Soft rolling hills, plentiful vineyards, raw stoney areas – we definitely recommend this option!
Do you prefer hiking? We recommend the “Cinque Torre” hike which is organised every year on Mother’s Day but can also be done by oneself. The tour is either 18 km or 30 km and (the organised version) ends with a great lunch in a castle. The area is also fabulous for playing golf, going horse back riding, and swimming – either in one of the many the swimming pools in the area or in the river.

The incredible slow food movement originates in the City of Bra. The whole of Piedmont is famous for its unique cuisine. We will gladly help you choose a restaurant or agriturisimo in order to enjoy the typical food of this region.

Listed on the Unesco World Heritage list Piemonte forms an oustanding basis for some of the finest wines.

There are plenty of markets in the vicinity. Acqui Terme has an extensive local market every Tuesday and Friday, that covers the whole town with more than 100 stands.
The antique markets are also very much worth while. You will find them amongst others in Bistagno, Asti, Nizza Monferrato and Acqui Terme. We will gladly inform you about the dates.

Besides markets the Italians love festivals. Whether it be a festival of strawberries, truffles, hazelnuts, beer, chocolate or flowers – everything is celebrated extensively. The “festa della feste” (the festival of the festivals) says it all!
